Distribution of fiction and nonfiction takes many forms. You can now publish your manuscript on multiple platforms across the Internet. Each platform has its own special requirements for the format of your e-book, and navigating the fine print can be a daunting challenge.
The digital age has brought us powerful tools for creating and distributing creative works. If you are going to self-publish your work, there are excellent DIY alternatives offered by Amazon and Draft2Digital, to name a few. Their websites offer forums and how-tos that will guide you through the process.
You may also want to see your book in print as a self-published author. Creating an elegant and print-ready document, complete with a powerful and compelling cover, can seem like a daunting task. If you are planning on taking the traditional publishing route, you will want to stop after the Line Edit phase and focus on your query letter. Your manuscript will likely go through a line edit and a copy edit after your agent has secured a deal.
